We recently completed an amazing exterior and interior casino décor upgrade for the One Fire Creek Nation Casino, located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. From the design process to the implementation, I-5 Design worked with the casino to create an environment that would welcome customers in and keep them entertained throughout the entire gaming floor. For the exterior, we designed a completely new façade that created a compelling entrance using river rock stone columns with custom light fixtures and signage. The concealed illumination on the porte cochere and building borderline produce a warm and inviting ambiance the ties into the interior lighting design. To produce a unified and consistent thread throughout the interior and exterior, we designed a custom flame motif, which was based off of the casino and tribal logo. The entire exterior remodel was completed in a weeks time, without making any structural changes to the building. Below is a quote from the assistant general manger of the Casino.

We are so very proud of our facility now, and it was such a great experience to work with I-5 Design and the sub contractors. Everyone worked so wonderful together on this project. The customer service provided by I-5 Design before, during and after the project was completed was outstanding. Much more efficiently planned and executed than anything I’ve ever had the privilege to be involved in. You, Nate and your crews were amazing in this process. From each employee of the One Fire Casino, thank you very much.”

I-5 Design & Manufacture custom designs and installs carpet for any venue style, to add interest and unity to the space. Creating unique patterns in the carpet design is one way to draw customers into the space and prepare them for what is ahead. Inspiration for our custom design flows from a variety of sources and depends on your venue type. For casino floors, many times we choose bright and bold patterns to stimulate an exciting and energetic ambiance. When designing gaming floor carpet, we choose elements that tie into the color palette and décor to produce a completely new atmosphere for the interior. When working with restaurants, patterns can be more subdued and moderate, as to create a soothing and welcoming setting. Whatever the request, I-5 will provide a carpet, which complements and enhances the entire design package.

I-5 Design and Manufacture specializes in designing and implementing custom décor and theming that gives your venue a unique and high-impact look and feel. One of the décor elements that we have implemented into several of our projects is custom chain curtains. These curtains can be used to add the ‘wow’ factor to your location, or to play a more supportive, background role. For each area that we design the curtains into, we seek to implement them in ways that highlights the area, and helps to produce the perfect environment that our client is looking to achieve. At the Envy Nightlife nightclub, in the Route 66 Casino, the chain curtain which is suspended over the bar, is illuminated from above with color-changing LED lighting, as well as has an integrated design pattern in the chain itself. The perimeter of the 360 degree bar, found at the same casino, is edged with multi-faceted, shimmering metal bead curtains, which are down-lit with color changing LED’s, to create an inspiring destination point in the center of the gaming floor. At another location, to visually lower the look of the ceiling and add an element of interest, we designed the curtains in a geometric square pattern, radiating outward from the center of the existing structal columns in the card room. In our themed designs, we have also used similar curtains in a wave like pattern to be suspended from the ceiling, in various blue and aqua hues to give the impression of a cool, flowing river. This is just one of the design elements that we have used to give a location a unique atmosphere that will invite customers to come back again and again.

When designing a bank, there are key factors to take into consideration in order to give customers a feeling of assurance and trust in you. A bank design should create a calm atmosphere that is genuine and natural. At the Washington Business Bank, located in Olympia, Washington, we used an earthy color palette and incorporated materials such as rock and tile to help produce the organic ambiance. To add interest to the interior space we designed an angled counter that is inset with illuminated, textured resin panels to provide warmth and tie into the bank logo. Custom light fixtures above the teller counter were also used to provide warmth and large windows at the entrance add to the natural glow. To emphasize personalized customer service and care, we designed a comfortable coffee bar and seating area, using the same maple wood finish to provide unity throughout the space. All of these elements that we chose for the Washington Business Bank helped to create the warm and inviting atmosphere they were looking to achieve, that would draw in current customers as well as welcome new financial prospects.

LED Lighting For Your Casino Venue http://www.i5design.com/blog/miscellaneous/led-lighting-for-your-casino-venue/ http://www.i5design.com/blog/miscellaneous/led-lighting-for-your-casino-venue/#comments Mon, 16 Jan 2012 23:40:00 +0000 Bonnie W http://www.i5design.com/blog/?p=1269 Continue reading ]]> LED Lighting Examples_I-5 Design

One of the elements that we incorporate into many of our designs is LED lighting. Among many other benefits, LED’s can be used for interior and exterior applications, making the possibilities of creativity infinite. In many cases, the lights are fully programmable which allows a wide array of colors to be displayed, and some can even play high-resolution video files. Consequently, this advanced technology allows for an assortment of looks to be created by the same fixture, and a wide array of moods or atmospheres when multiple fixtures are compiled. In Albuquerque New Mexico, at the Route 66 Casino, I-5 used LED technology for the Envy Nightlife décor upgrade. A compelling entrance structure assembled with interwoven oval pieces is equipped with color changing lighting to draw customers from all corners of the casino and produce an exciting mood. Inside of the nightclub we created a custom designed oval element that is suspended from the ceiling and houses 400 lineal feet of LED lighting, which changes colors, plays large scale video files, and pulses to the beat of the music. A similar experience was created for the Comanche Nation Casino, located in Lawton, Oklahoma. For this casino, we installed LED lighting on the exterior wall in a lighting pattern that changed colors to add interest and drama. At the Oaklawn Jockey Club we created a customized entrance structure to enhance the existing building design and maximize the look of the space. This is what the owner of the Jockey Club said about the project:

“People are just out there staring at the sign, it is just absolutely perfect. It makes a world of difference on that front. I just don’t know how you could have done it any better; the colors match so well, the size and everything. It is very exciting, I sure appreciate it.” Mac Core – Owner

To create an entertaining and welcoming grocery store environment, I-5 Design and Manufacture chose a bright color palette that would draw customers into the space and provide them with a unique shopping experience. Some of the most interesting elements of the interior are the feature walls. These walls are slightly beveled, which adds a depth and dimension, as well as color coordination so that you can easily tell where each department is located. Large stainless steel coated letters are mounted to a wooden valance with concealed lighting designed to mirror the department’s overall color scheme. Hanging from the ceiling are decorative banners that reflect the department products, while drawing the eye downward to the merchandise below. A simple design was chosen for the check-stand markers to provide a clean and fresh look at the entrance of the store. The feel that was achieved for this venue is warm and inviting with a slightly modern edge that adds to the overall appeal and unity.

Choosing the correct lighting fixtures for your venue, whether it is chandeliers or sconces, is a very important factor in any design. At I-5 Design and Manufacture, our designers specialize in creating customized lighting designs for a variety of locations and client types. Once these fixtures have been designed, they are then produced in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to ensure maximum quality and durability. Each locality that we provide lighting designs for requires a specialized look to tie into the surrounding area or theme of the venue. At the Clearwater Casino Buffet, the chandeliers that we designed included amber and green mica to create a warm and inviting glow, while corresponding with the natural, earthy theme of the rest of the buffet. For the Little Creek Casino, located in Shelton, Washington, our designers incorporated the Native American ‘Guardian of the Sun’ tribal element into the chandeliers, which added interest as well as honored the heritage of the Squaxin Island Tribe. Accurate lighting is essential in creating the perfect atmosphere for your location, and I-5 Design can provide this from design to manufacture and installation.

This custom designed flame sculpture was fabricated at the I-5 Design workshop in Lacey Washington, and implemented into the gaming floor area at the Gold River Casino. This custom decor element is I-5′s own brand of I-Metal sculpted into tongues of fire and finished in various warm color tones on a smooth, curved shape. Color changing LED lighting concealed below the custom designed flames, gives the sculpture the impression of real fire. This spectacular structure is now the flaming centerpiece for the gaming area inside the Gold River Casino, located in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

At the Chinook Winds Casino and Resort, located in Lincoln City, Oregon, I-5 Design recently completed an amazing upgrade for the Siletz Bay Buffet. Working with the existing curved structure of the venue, we created a design that enhanced the visibility from the gaming floor, as well as added interest and excitement. Suspended ceiling beams in a deep cherry wood finish, with concealed red LED lighting radiate outward from the center of the buffet, and provide a warm glow that invites patrons in. Corresponding with the overall red hued color palette, the ceiling-mounted entrance signage features internally illuminated push-through letters on a custom, integrated metal face in a deep burgundy tone. Surrounding the perimeter of the seating area, a curved half wall clad with architectural cultured stone and tapered dividing pillars inset with specialty etched metal, and topped with decorative caps provide effective screening from the queue line. Above the hostess counter, a multi-layered circular element with custom metal to tie into the half walls provides interest and reflects the shape of the tile below. An amber mica chandelier suspended from the center of the ceiling feature illuminates the imetal above and replicates the mica chandeliers throughout the interior of the buffet. Inside the buffet, the same style wood beams with concealed LED lighting mantle the ceiling; while the custom designed carpet adds a natural feel and complements the colors found in the interior artwork. New equipment and furniture was also included to create a uniform and upscale atmosphere. Through extensive coordination between I-5 Design and the casino personnel, the entire remodel was able to be performed quickly and during closed hours, allowing the buffet to remain open throughout the renovation process.

Theme-based Design http://www.i5design.com/blog/miscellaneous/theme-based-design/ http://www.i5design.com/blog/miscellaneous/theme-based-design/#comments Wed, 07 Dec 2011 23:32:08 +0000 Bonnie W http://www.i5design.com/blog/?p=1083 Continue reading ]]> Photo and mood board

Each venue or client type that we work with requires a new and innovative design style, and below are some of the steps we keep in mind while creating a design.

1. First we consider the customer base and which kind of people the design is intended to appeal to. Based on this information, we choose the color palettes and décor elements that would best complement the atmosphere or style requested by the customer.

2.What kind of atmosphere or theme does the client want to create; a regional theme common to the area or the local population, or a destination/retail environment that is different than most or all other business in the area?

3.Is the emphasis for the overall venue supposed to be warm and inviting, or is there a “wow” factor that needs to come into play, to create a unique and unforgettable experience.

Although every design varies, we are constantly thinking of ways the customer can get the biggest return on their investment. Keeping these tips in mind helps us make our clients pleased, and this, along with communication keeps our customer base continually increasing.
