Crystal Palace Casino

Complete interior casino re-design - Nassau, Bahamas

Crystal Palace Casino brought in I-5 Design to create a new theming design plan for updating the overall environment and adding excitement to their gaming floor. The overall architecture of the building lacked character while the design plan had very little visual interest. Crystal Palace wanted to transform their space into an underwater fantasy world that brought to life the aquatic colors of the Bahamas. The new design concept incorporated flowing metal curtains on the ceiling, large wooden columns with illuminated caps, seashell inspired chandeliers, large lowered ceiling areas with coral grid elements, and an exciting new color scheme and wall patterns.

The oval signage installed above the entrance of each area was designed to keep the swirling, circular theme while setting each area apart. Instead of the typical internal illumination we added animated chaser lights to border the signs and draw attention to each area in the casino.
This glass railing was added to the design for additional privacy between the floors. The etched, frosted vinyl overlay, matching the coral design on the pillars, was applied to one side of a translucent glass panel allowing the light to pass through creating a easy flow between the casino floors while still keeping them separate.
Inspired by the ocean waves, the custom pillars cast a warm light through the specialty blue/green sculpted art panels onto the aged brass trim above and below. We created a coral panel installed in front of an illuminated band creating a multi colored deep red and gold coral effect. To finish our columns we designed a deeply textured, aquatic inspired, wall covering with a deep red, gold and sea green pattern to wrap around the pillars underneath the coral band. Every décor element is created with a purpose contributing to the new tropical palace design motif.
