Spirit Lake Casino

Complete exterior conceptual design - Saint Michael, ND

Spirit Lake Casino & Resort has a beautiful lakeside location but needed to update the overall look of their facility which had a long, institutional looking facade. In order to add architectural interest and break up the long horizontal lines of the building, I-5 designed large tapered stone pillars and placed them at intervals along the long front facade and at each corner of the two porte cocheres. Each pillar was capped with an illuminated cornice overhang and craftsman style knee-braces that added dimension and visibility to the exterior. Coordinating trellis elements were integrated on each side of the porte cocheres and coffered ceilings with custom chandeliers highlighted the interior of the drive through structures. The casino's logo and name were then tailored to create signage that would add interest and impact to the location while establishing a well branded image.
