Concept to Completion

Photos of the Clearwater Casino design and finished project

As part of the secretarial staff at I-5 Design & Manufacture, it amazes me to see a design concept that started on a computer begin to take shape in our manufacturing facility. As the design moves through each department every decor item is analyzed and all the material, colors, textures and finishes are carefully selected, ensuring a smooth transition into manufacture. While our CAD department prepares the designs for production our ordering specialists research high quality materials that can be easily applied to the production files. As each element is manufactured, I am even more amazed to see how much better it looks in person. Above is an example of how similar our design renderings and finished projects are alike.

Permitting for Signage Needs

Exterior Signage for O'Reilly Auto Parts

The permitting department at I-5 Design is dedicated to making sure our clients get the visibility and recognition they need. We work closely with cities and municipalities, to interpret the development codes and allowances, resolve any challenges that could potentially slow down a project, and ensure that the permits are obtained in a timely manner.  Each jurisdiction presents its own unique challenges and we do everything possible to make sure our clients have the best signage scenario possible.

As the lead permit tech here at I-5 Design, I’ve worked closely with Cynthia Springer at O’Reilly Auto Parts to acquire the needed permits to implement new branding and signage for their retail facilities. Each location requires it’s own set of permits, being in various cities across the United States. Below is a message I received from Cynthia in reference to our work with her on O’Reilly Auto Parts projects.

“I am retiring from O’Reilly today and wish to extend my genuine appreciation for the excellent job you did for me and for O’Reilly.  You definitely got me from Monday to Tuesday when I needed all the help I could get.  I have seldom worked with a vendor that could wrangle permits they way I-5 Design could.  It is a coup de tat when a building is allowed 10 sq ft but you would get permits for 40 sq feet.”

I value my relationship with each of you.

Warmest regards,
Cynthia Springer

Simple Exterior Upgrade

Photos of various channel letter projects
Channel letters are a simple, high impact signage solution for any business. I am the head of the channel letter/graphics department here at I-5 Design & Manufacture and have helped implement systems for each step of the channel letter process. From laying out the production files for fabricating the individual components, to wiring the letters, each step is streamlined, creating a quick turn around time for the manufacture phase. The I-5 UltraBrite LED lighting system we’ve developed, creates the best impact and maximum visibility during day and night. Above you can see a few examples of channel letters that my department has produced as part of the overall exterior décor package.

From Concept to Completion | Typical Project Timeframe

Before and After Photos of recent projects

When renovating gaming and entertainment facilities, a common concern is the timeframe of the project and how the upgrade will affect the flow of business. Our team approaches these problems by planning throughout the design phase so manufacture of the project is streamlined and on-site implementation causes as little disruption to business as possible. Our design phase timelines start at 3 weeks and depending on the project, can be ready to build at the end of that time. The average manufacturing phase for a larger scale project starts at just 6-10 weeks. Our approach is to pre-assemble as many components as possible to ensure smooth and efficient onsite installation. By planning the implementation from the design phase, the manufacture and on-site installation come together so the upgrade can occur with minimal or no downtime to gaming or entertainment activities. In most scenarios, the property has remained open for regular business and continues to generate revenue while the facility is dramatically upgraded.

Lake of the Torches Casino & Resort Transformation

Photos of the Lake of the Torches Casino & Resort exterior and interior remodel

Lake of the Torches Casino & Resort exterior and interior transformation

Lake of the Torches Casino in Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin came to I-5 Design & Manufacture to design and upgrade the entire interior and exterior décor atmosphere of their casino. They wanted a design plan which was inspired by the outdoors and would highlight specific venues within the property, as well as tie into existing spaces that would not be changing. After a comprehensive design survey was completed, the design team took over conceptualizing perimeter murals, unique signage for each venue, and directional signage that tied all of the decor together. All of the elements were then produced in our facility using a component based manufacturing process so they could be shipped and easily assembled. Because of the implementation planning that goes into each project during the manufacture phase, our onsite installation time is dramatically reduced. For Lake of the Torches, both the exterior and the interior were able to be completed in one week and the casino remained open for business throughout the entire installation.
