The legalization of sports betting prompted Route 66 to implement a sportsbook amenity in their casino which combines dining, betting, and entertainment options for casino guests.
Design & Planning
The design for a new sports bar which also accommodates betting was developed to suit the needs of the casino. The bold new entry draws guests into the venue with industrial finishes and cool blue lighting. Once inside, guests are presented with multiple entertainment and dining options. The casino increased their slot count by integrating “The Garden” – a signature area which incorporates slot machines. “The Book” provides a designated area for guests to place their bets before gathering to watch current sports events or get a bite to eat in the venue dining area.
Build & Install
A large corrugated valance with blue uplighting adds to the industrial feel of the venue, and the signage and finishes throughout the venue build on this theme. The signage and decor, such as the bar ceiling structure and “The Garden” valance, were prefabricated off site by I-5 Design in order to cut down on the time needed to install each of the elements on site, providing a minimum interruption to operations.
The added venue entertains guests with TVs throughout, as well as gaming and dining options. The contemporary feel of the decor creates an attractive space for social gatherings and sporting events.
