Longhouse Buffet

Suquamish, Washington

Project Objectives

Refresh and update the existing buffet space to create a warm and inviting ambience for casino guests. For this project, budget and implementation timing were top priorities, as well as allowing the buffet to remain open throughout renovation.

Restaurant Design - Longhouse Buffet design by I-5 Design.

Design & Planning

The Suquamish Tribe is one of deep heritage, providing the I-5 design team ample inspiration and allowing for solutions that delivered maximum impact while remaining within budget.

A suspended box-beam wood ceiling, intersected by natural river rock architectural pillars, supports custom mica chandeliers with old world iron frames and mica insets which cast a warm and inviting glow throughout the interior. All new buffet equipment lends elegance to the space and luxurious modern furniture graces smaller dining areas created by specialty booth dividers topped with frosted glass privacy panels. The new casino buffet design layout achieves the ultimate goal to maximize space and create easy access for diners. To finish the space and highlight tribal heritage, customized wall art with historical imagery adorns the three walls which surround the seating area.

Build & Install

Clearwater Casino is highly satisfied with the resulting transformation and customer response to the new look and feel for Longhouse Buffet.

I-5’s in-house implementation team fabricated all of the design elements and installed the entire decor package. Coordinating with the casino’s general manager, I-5 created a plan that allowed the buffet to maintain normal business operations throughout the implementation phase. The entire decor package was installed in just 8 nights, providing Clearwater Casino with a turn-key project and a dining venue that welcomed customers and provided a comfortable ambience and dining experience.

The Longhouse Buffet was a very drab and cold dining venue that was in need of a complete renovation. The new restaurant designs created an attractive and warm space, providing patrons with an easy flowing dining experience and a place to get away from the fast pace of the gaming floor. Fast tracking the entire project and staying in budget was no problem for I-5 Design. The “concept to completion”, customer-focused approach gave Clearwater Casino an entirely new dining experience in a weeks’ time and allowed them to continue to serve their customers throughout the renovation.

I-5’s design and the use of indigenous natural elements all combined to create an environment that was unique and memorable, as well as functional.¬†Management was very impressed by I-5’s ability to achieve complete renovation in just 8 nights, with no downtime for the buffet.
