As part of an extensive remodel for Casino Pauma, I-5 was asked to expand the existing buffet area to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that carried out the "orange grove" theme established for the entire property.
Design & Planning
Both the intimate café and the more expansive buffet seating area were designed to capture a lodge-style motif, showcasing accents of rock and wood.
To greet customers, an inviting entrance to the dining areas was created, combining a wood beam valance and custom-designed “orange tree” metal sculpture art with dimensional signage, all illuminated by concealed accent lighting. A dramatic, vaulted-ceiling buffet seating area is anchored by a custom-fabricated, lifelike “orange tree” with wrap-around seating at the base of the tree and branches arching out over diners. Amber mica chandeliers and mounted fixtures wash the area in warm illumination. A café makeover, with simulated arching wood beams suspended over the seating area, features wall murals, amber mica chandeliers, and richly upholstered booths and furniture. Cultured rock column accents add to the rustic lodge décor.
Build & Install
Ensuring complete design intent and seamless transitions, I-5 not only re-designed the entire property but also built and installed all of the custom decor elements for the buffet and cafe design.
The extensive buffet seating area was partly an outside eating area with no covering and a small inside eating area. I-5 constructed a new sprung structure to enclose the entire eating area and added large windows along the perimeter to give diners a view of the scenic landscape. The Buffet and Cafe design at Casino Pauma was a part of the extensive casino design and renovation project. I-5’s skills as designer, manufacturer, and general contractor were all showcased in the Casino Pauma renovation—nowhere more so than in the café and buffet remodel. Despite extensive work, patrons were able to dine on-site throughout construction, ensuring the continuous flow of business revenue.
The entire casino property, including all the food and beverage areas, was completely transformed in just four months.
Like all aspects of the Casino Pauma transformation, the café and buffet areas have enjoyed increased traffic with more patrons choosing to remain on-site to dine.
The Triple Seven Bar is also a favorite spot within the Casino Pauma facility, offering patrons a memorable experience in a distinctive setting.
